Ode to a Ranger Medic
In the twilight of his service,
as he looks ahead,
He ponders the path that fate has tread,
A lifetime of memories etched in his mind,
A tapestry of love and loss that's intertwined.
He cherishes the bonds forged in fire,
The camaraderie,
the laughter,
the unbreakable wire,
That binds the warriors of the 75th together,
Through stormy seas and the fairest weather.
As he walks away from the battlefield,
He knows the wounds he carries will never fully heal,
Yet he carries with him a heart so brave,
A testament to the lives he fought to save.
In the quiet of the night,
he whispers a prayer,
For the brothers he's lost,
for the souls in his care,
For the courage to face what lies ahead,
And the strength to carry on,
with no regrets.
He finds solace in the knowledge that he served with pride,
In the 75th Ranger Regiment,
where legends reside,
And though his days as a medic may be at an end,
The lessons he's learned will forever transcend.
For the spirit of a Ranger never fades away,
It lives on in the hearts of those who dare to say,
That they stood tall,
they fought,
and they bled,
In the service of a cause that's greater than themselves.
And so,
as the sun sets on his time in the shadows,
He steps forward into the light,
with the courage to follow,
A new path that's paved with the memories of old,
In the 75th Ranger Regiment,
where stories of valor are told.
